New Batman film ‘Dark Knight’ voted in best films of 2008

The new Batman film, ‘The Dark Knight’ has been nominated as one of the best movies of 2008 by the American Film Institute. Other films that were nominated for best films of 2008 were, ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ and Disney’s, ‘Wall-E’. Many other films were included in the top running including, Iron Man, and drama hit, Frozen River, but the top ten choices will be honoured at an exquisite luncheon on January 9th at an unnamed event in America.
Additionally, The Dark Knight has been named as one of the 15 semi-finalists for best visual effects Oscar which is an incredible achievement. Other nominations include the second instalment of the Chronicles of Narnia film, Prince Caspian and the latest James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. Last week the late Heath Ledger was nominated for a posthumous Golden Globe award for his role as the infamous Joker in the Dark Knight. The role he played was absolutely incredible and there has been nothing but constant appraise for his performance.
I think it is duly justified that this film be awarded for an Oscar as the whole cast and crew performance was simply astounding. Each actor’s performance was incredible and it is now one my favourite films of all time. It was so different to any other Batman film I have seen before and it was taken well by the audience. The casting and the commitment by the Director, Chris Nolan was incredible and it really gave the film some incredible integrity. There is no doubt in my mind that the performance of Heath Ledger as the Joker will surely live on in our memories for years to come and although it is truly sad that he has passed away we will always remember his as one of the best actors of our time.
I don’t think this will be the last that we have heard of the Dark Knight film. I am sure that this film will win countless other awards, oscars and accolades. I am eager to see whether it will last till February for the Oscar nominations as it truly deserves it.
